I find it extremely hard to inspire people who have not voted for years or decades to re-activate their eligibility to vote in local and general elections. I cannot blame these laggards as even for a madly active participator like me, democracy is not really working. For Example. The New Zealand Herald publishes six words about me [Susanna Kruger Auckland Business School Owner] in the same article that other candidates receive about 500 words and a photograph. The Auckland Executive Club (for women) has their function in the same street as my company address, but, they invite only two candidates to speak. [Funny that one of these candidates says she stands for “inclusivity” and “the underdog” but then enjoys events where her ‘colleagues’ have been excluded and trodden upon. To be inclusive and standing up for the underdog are things you do everyday everywhere; you do not need a position and paycheck to be able to do so.] Also, any campaign based on the amount of money behind it cannot deliver real democracy – it is a game in which the odds are stacked against you even before the game begins. This is why I cannot help but work alongside the sovereignty movements for the abandonment of the current system – as once in the gutter, because you fell through a crack in the system, it is almost impossible to re-emerge. I have learned that you cannot change the system by being an insider of the system – I shall therefore continue my madly active participatory journey of creating an alternative parallel to the system, as an outsider. I am the only Mayoral Candidate, who has gone far beyond policies, and based on my own literature and social research conducted over the past six years, has designed and set up, with my own funds, an alternative business school as an early intervention to prevent youth suicide and prison reversing homelessness and poverty; remedying road congestion to reduce traveling time; and combating family and structural violence. I bring with me a new societal culture, a new economic structure and a new definition of justice for ALL to follow the dawning of a new horizon!
